Piwik è un programma Open (Open Source Software) per le statistiche e le analisi degli accessi a web.
Simile a Goole analytics, Piwik ha l'indubbio vantaggio di consentire all'azienda di mantenre riservati i dati raccolti.
I dati, infatti sono memorizzati in un database mySQL gestito dall'amminstratore dell'azienda, al contrario di Google anlytics dove i dati sono di Google.
Piwik, inoltre dispone di numerose API, quindi è possibile implementare funzionalità ad hoc, come è possibile accedere ai dati grezzi, dirattamente sul DB e quindi trattarli a piacere.
